2021 Highlights

Work was challenging due to the pandemic as I, like many others, learned to appreciate working from home.  I was pleased to have a great year for my clients despite working remotely.  I continue to have an office in San Francisco, and have found that avoiding the commute and going to the office less frequently have been great for my health while in no way decreasing productivity, or the achievement of outstanding results for my clients.

Personal Injury

I was pleased and honored to help two (2) families resolve wrongful death claims.  One case involved a traffic accident with a subdural hematoma that led to the passing of a 61 y/o man/husband/father.  The other involved medical malpractice that led to the passing of a 34 y/o single woman.  Both cases settled pre-litigation following months of presenting the claims, negotiations, and ultimately the clients accepting significant confidential settlements that they felt were appropriate under the circumstances.

Litigated Cases

With co-counsel, I helped obtain a $450,000 settlement of a disability insurance bad faith claim that had been litigated for over three (3) years and involved numerous motions, discovery responses, depositions, etc.

With co-counsel, I helped resolve a wrongful death claim and helped the client obtain a significant extra-contractual contribution from their insurer based on allegations of bad faith stemming from a CCP 998 Offer to Compromise (e.g. over and above the policy limits).

Real Estate

I worked with tenancy in common owners that consisted of multiple family investors who sold a San Francisco Apartment building for over $17,000,000 to a large REIT handling the Seller’s documents in negotiations with multiple national law firms.

Handled numerous lease negotiations and buy-out agreements between lessors and lessees.

Prepared leases and purchase agreements,

Other

Helped defend a family friend who was investigated by the US Attorney and SF District Attorney over her relationship with a corrupt/indicted SF building inspector.  Clients were not charged.

Continue representation of those unable to afford hourly rate and/or require pro bono representation.
