Matthew Wertheim

In private practice since 1987, Matthew Wertheim has handled a wide variety of litigation and transactional matters. He has represented clients in hundreds of lawsuits and disputes involving personal injury law, malpractice, real estate, business disputes and litigation, and more.  He also has significant experience with insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Early in his career, he worked for an insurance defense firm, McDonald, Cullom & Perrusina and was active in all phases of civil litigation, providing an inside perspective to insurance defense.

In addition, Matthew Wertheim is a seasoned mediator and since 2005 has participated in the early Settlement Program as a Mediator for the San Francisco Superior court. He has mediated over 200 ESP and private disputes involving personal injury, real estate/contracts, employment, medical malpractice, and products liability.

When not practicing law, Matt enjoys playing pick-up basketball and tennis. He likes hiking and mountain biking and following the San Francisco Giants and other sports teams. Matt is married with two children, and is a life-long San Francisco Bay Area resident who now resides in Marin County.
